Hey everyone! I recently went on a trip to California with my family and wanted to share some of the things we did. It was my first time in California and I absolutely loved it. We stayed in San Diego while we were there and it was beautiful.
On the first day of our trip we went to La Jolla. We started at the cove where we saw some sea lions and from there we walked along the sidewalk on the coast. Next to the sidewalk, there’s a grassy area where lots of people were hanging out. While walking, we saw lots of sea cliffs, beautiful houses, and even more sea lions. We were able to check out some of the beaches and saw some people out diving but the water was way too cold for me.
After walking around a good bit, we decided to grab some food. We went to Cody’s, which is a brunch/lunch spot and it was delicious. Not only was the food delicious, the place was super cute and had an amazing ocean view. My mom, sister, and I ordered the lobster roll, crab cake eggs Benedict, and onion rings, no complaints.
The next day we had to drive up to Camp Pendleton but made a stop at Sunset Cliff’s. The views here were gorgeous and the pictures do not do it justice. There’s also a few little paths you can walk around the cliff.
Another beautiful location we went to was Doheny State Beach. It’s pretty rocky, but we had no issues walking around. My mom could have spent hours looking for sea glass here if my sister and I weren’t ready to leave, but if that’s your thing, I totally recommend coming here.
Unfortunately no pictures but only because it was so good I couldn’t resist eating it right away. My family and I went here multiple times during our trip because it was that good. For all my fellow dessert connoisseurs, I highly recommend.
We first came here to watch the sunset, but I loved walking around the town here. There’s lots of restaurants and cute shops. We got to see the Top Gun house, which is now “The High Pie”. Luckily, we made it right before they were about to close. I got the blueberry high pie, which was delicious.
This was by far the best botanic garden I’ve ever been to. It’s 37 acres and the garden is divided into 15 sections that represent different regions of the world. They have the nation’s largest public bamboo collection and work to conserve threatened plants and habitats. They also collaborate with nonprofit, academic, and government partners.
