10 Best Things to do in Cyprus: Hidden Gems
Hello and welcome to The Aloha Blog! I’ll start by saying this blog post is long overdue. I went to Cyprus in 2022 and it was absolutely incredible. I feel like Cyprus itself is a hidden gem. I also want to give a shout out to my uncle who lives there. He was my tour guide the whole time I was there and showed me all of these amazing spots. Without further ado, here are 10 amazing things to do in Cyprus.
1. Konnos Bay

Konnos Bay might have been my favorite spot in Cyprus. The water is absolutely stunning and the scenery surrounding the bay is beautiful. It’s located in Ayia Napa and if you get hungry you can make a stop at the snack bar.
2. Kalopanayiotis Village

Kalopanayiotis is a village located in Cyprus’s Troodos Mountains. This place looks like it came straight out of a fairytale. If you spend some time walking around the cobbled streets, you’ll find museums, churches, and restaurants.
3. Sculpture Park

I was awe-struck by the sculpture park in Ayia Napa. The sculptures were breathtaking. It’s also completely outdoors, and there are so many spots with beautiful views of the ocean. The park is free and contains art from over 50 different artists.
4. Larnaca Salt Lake at Sunset

The Larnaca Salt Lake is the second-largest salt lake in Cyprus. In the winter months, you can spot flamingos here! I went here at sunset, and it was absolutely stunning. There is also a nature trail in the area offering gorgeous views of Larnaca.
5. Nissi Beach

Another recommendation located in Ayia Napa is Nissi Beach. This beach has stunning turquoise water and is the perfect place to relax. This beach can get crowded, so I recommend arriving early.
6. Museum of Underwater Sculpture Ayia Napa (MUSAN)

The Museum of Underwater Sculpture Ayia Napa is seriously one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen. The underwater museum features over 90 pieces of artwork by artist Jason deCaires Taylor. You will definitely need a good snorkel and mask to check this place out, here’s one from Amazon that I recommend!
7. Cavo Greco National Park

Cavo Greco National Park offers stunning views of the ocean and seaside cliffs. I highly recommend checking out the sea caves and Ayioi Anargyroi while visiting. There are also several nature trails for you to enjoy.
8. Church of Saint Lazarus

You will definitely want to make a stop at the Church of Saint Lazarus if you are in Larnaca. It’s a beautiful example of Byzantine architecture and lies over the tomb of the Saint. The church was originally built in the 9th century, but was restored in the 17th century.
9. Titsiros Beach

Titsiros Beach is a stunning hidden gem with crystal clear water. This is a perfect quiet place to escape if you want to relax. You will also get to take in the stunning landscape surrounding the beach.
10. Thalassa (science and history museum)

Thalassa is a science and history museum in Ayia Napa. However, the museuem’s main focus is to display how the sea has affected history, specifically in the Mediterranean. It is open Monday through Saturday, and admission is €4.
